The dual-SIM devices have a 4.5-inch screen with a quad core MediaTek processor, 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage, which can be expanded to 32GB. It will feature a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera with replaceable battery and built-in radio.

Micromax will sell its Android One handsets on Amazon, while Flipkart and Snapdeal will exclusively sell the Spice and Karbonn phones, respectively.

“When [handset] companies look to make a phone, they will get a menu [of options from Google]. They can put together a device much faster, knowing we have already tested the software,” said Sundar Pichai, head of Google’s Android and Chrome units, who was in Delhi for the launch.
